OWENSVILLE, MO-A new addition to the OHS Sports teams has the whole school pumped, though mostly the girls. Starting this spring the Dutchgirls start the first ever soccer season at OHS. Petitions went around at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year. By looking at the petition there were quite a few signatures. The announcement was over a week ago but quite a few people are still buzzing about with excitement. I’ll tell you what, the girls could not be more pumped, and they can barely wait for spring to be here.
Who will be the head
coach of the team is still unknown for now, as are questions about whether there will be actual tryouts
or not. There had been a few rumors flying about that Coach Heflin will take
the position as head coach. Those rumors, however, have yet to be confirmed. That’s
not the only commotion happening; a few are still conflicted they have to
choose between Track and Soccer instead of the easy choice of just one spring
sport. As Junior Danika Donatii says, “I feel like all my friends are leaving
me, I want to do track still but all of them are switching to soccer.” Many others face the same conflict this
spring, so there is defiantly sure to be some serious confliction.
So get out there this spring and support our OHS Dutch girls,
this new season could be the start of something big!
